We recently completed this warehouse production freezer that was designed to maintain -35C. Achieving and maintaining this low temperature in a large warehouse freezer provided several challenges. In order to achieve this temperature without going to a cascade refrigeration system we had to carefully design the entire system to keep pressure losses to a minimum. Evaporators had to modified to remove the ice build up from around the fans during the defrost cycle. All the seams and openings in the panels required carefull sealing to prevent leakage. Even the pressure relief ventilation required special attention to eliminate freezing shut due to the high ambient temperature and humidity conditions surrounding the freezer.
